Todd Haynes' Velvet Goldmine was originally supposed to chronicle Bowie's career through the Glam-Rock era; however, when approached, Bowie wouldn't sign off on it. Haynes decided to move forward with the project and instead of a straightforward Bowie piece, he leaned into the fever dream of the era and ended up with an Uber-Bowie-esque character. [TeePublic]
